Well folks! We made it back to the lower 48. We needed to get everybody and our copious amount of luggage down to Aunt L and Uncle F’s house in Eatonville. They invited the entire crew (10 of us) to visit and spend the night. They have a lovely home and gardens overlooking (Or is it under-looking if you’re below it? Is that a word?) the famous Mt. Ranier.
To get the entire squad down south to Eatonville, Grandpa and Coach “walk-off disembarked” several hours before the rest of the family. They caught a Lyft down to SeaTac where they proceeded to rent a couple people-haulers. Haulers in hand, they headed back north to pick up the fam. Two successful luggage loads later, we were caravanning south. After several stops to procure bladder relief and an inexpensive car seat for PJ, we arrived, all smiles, as we were greeted with warm hugs and the finest home-distilled products. After a champagne and sparkling cider toast to our safe return, the children played all over the property and the adults relaxed, shot the breeze, and made merry. A lunch of brats and burgers was served, delicious! It was good to catch up with family. We then, as family does, began preparing for the next meal. Lasagna! Nah. First we brought the Texas to Washington with a family-friendly version of Texas Hold’Em. Somehow Grandma made all of her money back by the end. It rained off and on all afternoon. Uncle F shared his very tasty homemade whiskey, Coach enjoyed watching the clouds while hoping Mt. Ranier would make an appearance, no such luck! But we were able to get a fire started after the rain passed. S’mores for everyone.
The kiddos headed to bed and the adults enjoyed the warmth of the fire and the company. Coach cannot believe he did not snap a single picture.
Grandma and Grandpa were able to get a pic of Ranier the next day and rubbed it in our faces shared it via text! Pretty incredible backyard view.
